OKay, in regards to the CIA memos about torture, whom do you feel should be held responsible? The agents who did the torture, their bosses, the lawyers who drew up those memos, or higher up the 'food-chain?'

On a lighter note, I was going to as about Hieros, but somebody already beat me to it.

Well, DAMN, you sort of answered my question here already. :( (I was totally going to ask when you'd work on your WHR fics again! :(((()

Since people have already asked about Hieros :P, I shall ask you a more important question...

CAKE OR PIE? Choose your answer carefully!

Ooh ooh, question tiems! Gotta take advantage of this, muhahahaa >:D

Have you attended any conventions/would like to in the future?
You already answered the big Q about UlquiHime porn, so...any favorite recipes to share?
Lastly...What's your perfect Sunday?

Given your list of anime may I recomend Vampire Knight. I just got into this and it has stangely hijacked my libido. Full Metal Alchemist is yummy. I would also recomend Black Lagoon for it's likeness to Cowboy Bebop awesomeness.

I loved WHR but the skimpyness of A/R kills me. The part where he puts the note in her hair gets me flushed everytime. There really isn't enough porn with those two.

I love your work and enjoy reading your musings.

Ok here's a question which do you prefer Anita Blake Vampire Hunter or Twlight?

Date: 2009-04-23 07:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misora.livejournal.com
Yeah, A/R was very subtle...to the point that some fans were actually denying it. But you can't deny the hotness of that well scene, even as reticent as Amon usually is. That was a big step for him. And there's no denying that they went off together at the end of the series to make little super!witch-babies. :D

I tried watching the FMA anime, and...I just couldn't get into it. I've also seen parts of Cowboy Bebop, and while that was enjoyable, there wasn't enough emotional investment between characters to really grab me enough.

Thank you! I will try to get more works done very soon.

And as far as ABVH or Twilight....the lesser of the two evils, for me, would be Twilight. Because as much disdain as I have for that story, at least it's about innocent young love -- and hasn't degenerated into shoddy were/vamp porn, as is in the case of Anita Blake. That woman is a cockblocking Mary Sue if I've ever heard of one. :/

:D Ahh, another WHR reader. I really had no idea people were so anxious about HG progressing further. I realize though, looking back on TBT that I really left a lot of things unanswered, and I'm regaining my motivation to get back to writing HG and finishing the story I'd started. ^^ Thanks for still sticking around and having faith this entire time!

About the waterboarding...man, after hearing that Condi Rice actually gave the CIA the okay for that, I'm thinking we should just hold her responsible. I mean, seriously. I know even worse shit than that goes on in other countries, but we are supposed to uphold the regulations of the Geneva Convention, and we -- as this ever-touted "land of the free" -- have to be an example to the rest of the world. Degenerating into torturous and barbarous behavior just because "other countries do it" is not an excuse that we can live with anymore. We have to be better than that.

Someone should hold the Bush Administration accountable for all of the fuck-ups they did in the last 8 years. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

I haven't attended any cons...and I feel really bad about that. It's not as though I haven't had any opportunities to go, either! It just seems as though the last couple times that I've tried to make plans, work or RL got in the way and kind of sabotaged things. My work always comes before anything else, so if I have a big project due or something, it impedes any other social plans I might have.

I still would like to try to go to one in the future...we'll see if I can manage it.

Here's a good, simple summer recipe I've just started making again, as the weather's gotten hotter. (Karen is my mom's name. It was her original recipe, and I just modified it. :D):

Karen's Asian Chicken Salad

  • one whole chicken, boiled or roasted (I often cheat and buy a small rotisserie chicken, if I don't feel like cooking an entire one.)

  • one and a half heads of green Napa cabbage, chopped finely

  • 3 carrots, shredded

  • 6 scallions, finely chopped

  • one package (not cup, *package*) instant Ramen noodles, crushed into small pieces

  • one cup thinly-sliced roasted almonds

  • one can diced water chestnuts

  • few palmfuls of roasted sesame seeds

  • bean sprouts or thinly-sliced peppers, if you like

  • a few sprigs of thinly-cut basil

After you've cooked the chicken (or bought the rotisserie version), shred the meat into small bites and add to the mixture of veggies. For the addition of the ramen noodles, you can just take the crushed noodles, without the flavor packet, and heat with a pat of butter and oil over medium heat in a saucepan, just for 5 minutes or so to brown them. Drain them on a paper towel before adding them to the salad.

Dressing:
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar

  • 2 tbspn sugar

  • 3 tbspn soy sauce

  • 2 tspns sesame oil

  • 1 tspn grated fresh ginger

  • 3 tbspns other vegetable oil (like canola)

Whisk together and pour over salad, preferably in a container where you can then shake salad to distribute it evenly. Stays crunchy for a while in the fridge, even with the dressing, because of the cabbage. :D

(I should really start putting up more of my summer food and drink recipes these days...when the weather gets hot, our entire menu changes. :D)

And lastly...as for a perfect Sunday, I'd say it's more like this past Sunday. John and I woke up late, had coffee and pancakes, did some gardening and sunbathing in our little backyard, played some tennis, came home and showered, then went for sushi and a leisurely bookstore run, during which he reads and I camp out with my laptop and write for a bit. I love days like that where we have a perfect blend of outside/inside activities. :)

Jobs always do have a way of worming in during any sort of fun plans - but good luck for the next one you set your sights on getting to :3

*proceeds with immediate copypasta-ing of recipe* Quick and easy is too tempting to pass up for very long. This is amazing! Cheating with prepped chicken, pfft, call it being a timesaver. As luck would have it, I made a massive batch of Soy Sauce Chicken last night, and used that in the salad (and, growing up with pretty traditional grandparents, all of those ingredients are always in the kitchen - who knew!) and it is mue tasty ^__^

My roomie isn't big on ginger, but she mauled this thing up before I threatened to fight her for the rest of it. Please continue to post more summer yummies in the future, for this is friggin fantabulous~

Your Sunday sounds glorious - active with tons of stuff to do, yet leisurely and low-key. It's delicious as well - good for the soul all over!

1. Yeah. I've been entangled with 'real life' myself.
But my rl is on a downturn at the moment ...
but yours sounds like it's heading in the right direction! :D
I have a strange relationship with BLEACH. I liked it at first ... I found Ichigo and Rukia's chemistry charming. Duh. I'm a romantic ... ANYWAY ... I fell out when it became about ever increasing #'s of soul reapers with kind of stupid designs. Too many BIG BOOBS ... IDK.
I've seen bits and pieces of Ulquiorra and Urihime. (Mostly FAN ART) I'm intrigued ... but you know how that goes. :P I'm kinda tired of looking for romance in the adolescent imaginations of guys my age. :( They don't have a clue. [I'm still going to read up on Ulquiorra/Urihime XP]

2. hmmm. yes. I've fallen out of love with Avatar as a product. D; But I feel compelled to finish my comic out of SPITE! XD *shakesfist* I'll SHOW 'EM!!! I still find Zuko and Katara and all the variations thereof interesting ... I Like to go there. (escape much?) But I think this first exploration into public fandom has left me with a distaste for fandom in general. It's almost better to just enjoy stuff on your own. (with rl friends and lovers?)

3. yay. :)
I'm trying to reconcile myself with my disappointment.
[And it's not just Avatar]
These days I'm a bit frazzled 0_o and prone to mistakes. So I appreciate it. ^________^
Especially since I lost my rl Beta in January. </3 {The 'other' disappointment}

Ulquiorra is definitely really paying attention to her, which always makes me shipper senses perk up.

And you're working on porn? Sweet! I can't wait to read it.

Oh, that sounds delicious - so are the ramen noodles still crunchy in the salad? I assume so, but I wanted to be sure.

Oh, so you tried it already? :D That's great!

I'll definitely share more recipes; I'm also trying a lot of new ones this summer, so I'll be the guinea pig and post the ones that turn out the best!

And thanks, for your other comments -- mind if I friend?

The ramen noodles hold up for at least a couple of days; but eventually with the dressing they get a little soggy. My advice is, if you plan to keep it (and it makes a *lot* of salad) for a few days, best to store it without the dressing and just add it before you're about to eat. ^^

(This deserves the Hime-forcefeeding-Ulqui icon. *snickers*)

Thanks! :D It's gonna be porny but slightly lulzy as well...I think that's Orihime's influence. *snickers*

I'm such a sucker for other people's fooding creations, otherwise I just get too damn lazy to make anything, so it totally works out!

New recipes, excellent! Of course on the other end, if anything fails so spectacularly that it makes a hilarious story, then you must post that as well *nodnod* I would not mind at all - I was about to ask the same to you as well, since you are clearly a cool chika :3

1. Do you think Ichigo is TOO powerful and Kubo used Plotkai in his fight against Ulquiorra?

2. Do you think Ulquiorra likes Orihime for her mind and her body?

3. In your WHR fics, when are we going to see Amon's Bankai? XD.

Totally going to second the rec for Trigun. Until FMA, for about 4 years straight, Trigun was my absolute favorite anime ever ever EVVVVEEEEEERRRRR.

Blue Seed is also entertaining in it's way. The first half of the series is pretty repetitive, but the second half escalates and escalates in some very cool ways, culminating in an intense finale. Not anywhere near Trigun intense, but still quite rockin'.

From: [identity profile] misora.livejournal.com
Trigun sucked me in because Vash was adorable, and his interactions with Meryl near the end still makes me tear up, even to this day.

And yay! I know so very few Blue Seed fans. The animation wasn't that stellar, and the music score is laughable by today's standards I guess...but I really liked the storyline, and I agree, the intense finale.

Yes. It sucked me in because it was like the show said, "Here, we'll give you this really fun and likable character, and then you can watch as we DESTROY HIM. And maybe build him back up again at the end. MAYBE."

Since I adore humor mixed with angst and character-analysis, it was Rashaka/Trigun OTP forever.
