How much do I love a job that interrupts your workday in the afternoon for sweets (cake, cupcakes, cookies, fudge) and champagne?

I mean, sure we were celebrating a corporate milestone, but it just feels like they want to indulge us sometimes. ^_____^

...

*hopes there's an unopened bottle that she can stick in her messenger bag to take home later*

It's not always sunshine and roses, but we do get some perks. :D

The problem with drinking champagne in the middle of the day is, a) I get buzzed really quickly, and then b) want to sleep. D:

Ahahaha. They used to do nothing BUT eat at the lab I interned at. No champagne, though. :(

This place isn't nearly as bad as some of the other companies I worked at, where I swore we had cake like, every week. o_O That's a little much.

Oh yes, that is definitely bad. PARTICULARLY WHEN THE CAKE IS A LIE. Pie > failcake.

That reminds me of when I worked as a travel agent for American Express. The hotel reps were always bringing in pastries and sweet-ass box lunches along with free room passes and shit. Great job, if you don't mind weighing 300 lbs at the end of the day. *sigh*

Yeah, I'm going to be paying for what I ate today during tomorrow morning's workout. :p

I'm glad this place at least insists on healthy snacks most of the time (fresh fruit).

I work at such a place!
Today we got pizza, there's always homemade stuff and weekly donuts. I would think they want to fatten us up ... except we have a gym with trainers too! 0_o?

It's like that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine gets pissed because of all the cake breaks ... but then finds she's hooked on the afternoon sugar fix. XD

We actually have a gym in our building, downstairs (next to the Starbucks--gah!), but it's not as nice as the gym near my home, so I rarely work out there. I prefer to do mornings, anyway.

Yeah the sugar fix totally helps you, for about an hour. :D Then it wears off and the alcohol makes me sleepy, and I just go "....mmm". :p

I think that's the best part of my job sometimes -- all of our "forced camaraderie" events in our division now include alcohol, whether it's beers at the ballgame or sangria at the end-of-fiscal celebre. Sometimes, it's the only reason to head to said "forced camaraderie" events. Hope you snagged that bottle!

Yeah there's usually some form of alcohol that accompanies our socials, too. We had sangria at our last happy hour (and a Wii!). :D Mmmmm.

I still maintain that you can't enjoy baseball and beer together properly unless you're using them together, as in sloshball, with a keg on 2nd base. Good times, good times. XD
