Dear Bunny,
As of tomorrow, you will be 12 weeks old! What a milestone! I'm so proud of you for getting this far. You have your momma's tenacity. ^^
Daddy and I saw you on the sonogram on Wednesday, and boy were you active! I never knew there was such a thing as in utero gymnastics. At one point you did a complete flip, and made everybody laugh! You were waving your arms and kicking your legs something fierce. Daddy says you're a boy, and I tend to agree with him based on your heart rate (it's at about 157, down from 167 two weeks ago), but I guess we won't know for certain until we see you again in six and a half weeks. It sounds like a long time to wait, but maybe the doctor might let us see you again in the interim.
By the way, thank you for not making Momma sick any longer...that was definitely no fun. I'll continue to indulge your cravings - I know you want a corned beef and sauerkraut Reuben sandwich right now - but go easy on Momma, okay? I don't want to turn into a balloon sooner than I have to.
Fortunately your nuchal translucency measurement (skin fold on back of neck to observe as a marker of Down's Syndrome) was 1.4mm, which is normal. But man, just look at those chompers!
That's one impressive set of teef.
And we got to see your little face pointed right toward us, which was a little freaky because you look like a monkey right now:
But I'm sure by the time we see you again at 18 weeks or so, you'll look completely normal. Just be sure not to hide your naughty bits then!
Much love,
Momma.
:)

Date: 2010-10-01 07:31 pm (UTC)Yes, we're hoping Bunny isn't shy. We want to see whether we'll be buying tutus and tiaras or trucks and train sets!
(And I'm totally BSing, because regardless of whether it's a boy or girl, we'll be bringing it up to ignore gender stereotypes. If Bunny's a boy he'll be taught to cook and clean, and if it's a girl she'll be brought up to be a hardcore science freak. :D)

Date: 2010-10-01 07:30 pm (UTC)It'll be interesting to see if he's (I'm still calling boy) going to be as active and spunky after the birth!
Glad you're not getting sick anymore- best to have things as smooth as possible. *hugs again*

Date: 2010-10-01 07:45 pm (UTC)And yes, I'm so glad the sickness is starting to wear off. For the last two weeks it's been really hard to do *anything*...and just last night I finally felt well enough to make dinner for myself and J. ^^ That felt like an accomplishment.

Glad that everything is going well (especially that the nausea is going away).

Date: 2010-10-01 07:51 pm (UTC)I'm especially glad the nausea is abating, too. Man, that was rough. I could eat, but I couldn't prepare anything, because the thought of food preparation made me sick. I even gagged trying to make pancakes. LOL!

Date: 2010-10-01 08:55 pm (UTC)Bunny started off small, but he/she's exactly where they should be for size. I'm so excited to find out the gender! I don't know if I can wait 6 weeks..

Date: 2010-10-01 08:57 pm (UTC)Actually it's *Daddy* that's rooting for a girl. I'm on Team Penis, because I'd love to have a boy - but I'll be happy with whatever I get, regardless. It just would be fun to have a boy first, because John's family has all girl grandchildren, so far. ^^
John will totally spoil the baby if it turns out to be a girl. He won't be able to refuse her anything. LOL! I almost want it to be a boy for that reason - I don't want it to be spoiled. :p

Date: 2010-10-01 09:30 pm (UTC)You will have to let me know the sex as soon as you know--I can start work on a blanket for you then! I mean, I don't want to make something purple and all of a sudden you're like, "IT'S A BOY!!"
That would be tragic. Unless you're giving birth to Prince. Then it would rock.

Date: 2010-10-05 07:12 pm (UTC)That's awesome that you want to make me a blanket! I wish I had super knitting skillz...alas it looks complicated and I'm not sure I would have the time or energy to pick it up. But I would love to see what you could make!
I won't know the gender until week 18 or so...but if you wanted to just pick a color, I would suggest....mint green or brown? Those are very gender-neutral colors, and I was thinking about a gender-neutral color scheme for the baby's room anyway, kind of like this:
I love those colors, and it would work regardless of boy/girl. :)
If you do this, I might have to respond by making you some jewelry. Because that's the only remotely creative thing I think I can do right now. LOL

Date: 2010-10-02 03:05 am (UTC)In a funny twist of coincidence my cousin just announced she's 13-14 wks preggo, which puts her bunny a week and a few days give or take older than yours! Whats even crazier is that she feel madly in love with an amazing Marine officer whose part Asian, super smart (and hot!) whose now her hubby/baby daddy. Between her Asian mixed bunny and your Asian mixed bunny they will be the cutest babies evar!!!
