Holy hell, I am laughing my ass off at Nick Simmons (son of rocker Gene Simmons), who is responsible for blatantly plagiarizing Kubo Tite's Bleach manga. Like, tracing it.

He's editing his Wiki page about it, too. You can click on the IP address and see his name.

Too much shitty plagiarism goes on rampantly, not only in the entertainment industry but in fandom especially. Just yesterday I was wheedled by an annoying little fanbrat who wanted me to give the "thumbs up" for her to copypasta my Bleach UlquiHime lemon, "Lip Service", directly into her story. Verbatim.

Uh, no. Write a sequel, rewrite the whole damn scene in your own words, if you have to, but don't fucking copy my writing word for word. Seriously? That's just fucking lazy. You're not even trying.


ETA: Her rationale for doing this:

"My thought was this, 'Hmm...what if I put this story together with that one...WOW, THAT WAS AWESOME!'...and I thought it'd be neat to share it with others, ya know? My story idea would never have taken off if I didn't cut and paste and come up with something different, cool, and incredbily interesting.

Tell you what? What if I publish it..and if you REALLY HATE what I did, I'll take it down...the thing is, after awhile, fan-fics fall out of circulation as the newer stories throw the older ones farther and farther down the foodchain."

Suddenly, I seem to have lost all desire to write Zutara fanfic.


I really have no idea why, because about eight months ago I was suddenly fully re-immersed in the Avatar fandom, and even as few as four months ago was writing in it prolifically. So what happened, self???

I mean, it could have to do with a number of things...the fact that I've re-watched Death Note recently (and re-read, in the case of its prequel, Another Note), and am currently writing fic for it. (Will be posting a link to death_note and dn_het when I've got the first two chapters done.)

There's also the fact that I received so much encouragement and positive feedback on resuscitating my WHR fic, Hieros Gamos, that I'm more than excited to continue it after I've gotten some headway on my DN fic.

But it also could be the fact that J and I are super-busy at the moment, and don't seem to have the time I used to for juggling more than one fandom simultaneously. We're not engaged yet, but we're discussing marriage options (mostly relating to the Chinese aspects: +/- banquet, +/- tea ceremony, that kind of thing), we're looking at real estate, and we're - gasp - trying to get pregnant. All at the same time, it seems.

Hooo, boy.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and a Happy New Year's Eve last night. J and I celebrated with champagne, friends and lots and lots of kids - which sparked several late-night discussions of "are we ready for it?" and "such a big commitment" but ultimately ended in "okay, let's do this." haha. Onward!!

Our Christmas haul was a little lighter this year, but we both still got things we wanted, and everyone was happy. Lots of good meals were made, including cakes and cookies of the seasonal variety (I'll have to post my oatmeal-cranberry recipe at some point), and a gym membership was fully utilized to the utmost extent.

Lastly, something I've been busy with while avoiding writing - not sure why, kinda blocked in that area - I've gone crazy with artisan jewelry lately, and these are a couple of my results.

Then tonight I have to make like 3 dozen oatmeal-raisin and oatmeal-cranberry cookies, for our Thanksgiving potluck luncheon tomorrow.
