The thing is most Japanese didn't know about the slaughter. The good news is the movie is being released in Japan soon. I'm guessing the dolphin slaughtering industry will be hurt for a while. Then again, the Japanese still favor whaling and don't mind slaughtering the blue fin tuna into extinction. Probably what will hurt the most is the realization that dolphin meat is being sold as food.
