Belated Merry Christmas!!
Had a wonderful holiday! Mom & stepdad just left after 3 days, and now our house feels a little empty.
Our haul this year was amazing:
- baby clothes and blankets from Dad
- cash (an absurd amount; I think we netted close to $1K this time...sadly, 80% will go into savings for baby!)
- crockpot from bro (I can't wait to cook with it)
- Xbox Kinect system + Dance Central from John's sisters (demo'd it on Christmas day - ohmygod so fun)
- lotions and knicknacks, including some wonderful soaps and belly butter..yummm
- food & drink, of course
- Samsung HD handheld camcorder for John (from me)
- alarm clock & sound therapy system
- rocking chair for the baby's room (from Mom & stepdad)
and this:

1.68 ct. sapphire and diamonds on platinum. He finally made an honest woman out of me. ;)
We decided we'd put off the wedding celebration until after the baby's birth. But for now we'll get the paperwork done, and make it official. (I guess this means I need to change my name. Eeek!)

that alarm clock and sound therapy system sounds interesting :P

It's pretty cool; John can record a message in his own voice for the alarm. ;) And we have sleep settings that have sounds like ocean or rain, which are really soothing white noise for me.

And yes, the name change is good...I think my name fits very well with his last one. ;) Luckily!

Congrats on the wonderful haul, and happy belated Christmas!

I actually had the ring custom-made because the picture I had in my mind was very similar to the Princess Di engagement ring (and the one William's fiancee now wears). I love sapphires, and I wanted something different than a center-cut diamond...so this was a lovely example to model it after. :D

Congratulations and happy holidays ^_^

And I think changing my name will be well-worth it. Besides, I have a brother who can carry on my family name - that's his responsibility, now. :p

He does have great taste, I won't dispute that...but I actually picked out my own ring, as much as that takes the surprise factor out of it. ;) He wanted to make sure it was something I loved, and I had them custom-make the ring with a different focal stone instead of a diamond. He still got down on one knee afterwards, though! ;)

And your ring is a replica of Prince William's fiancee's! Sweet!
I really hope I can get married someday, but I have no idea how to meet men. I'm so socially inept. ANYWAY! /ends rambling
MERRY CHRISTMAS, I HOPE IT WAS AWESOME!
LOL I got a nice load, too. Just posted about it on my journal. XD

I hope you can someday, too - you're still pretty young though (I personally think everyone should wait at least until late 20s- early 30s), so I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. I went through meeting a lot of men - and then still not knowing for 100% certainty - before picking John. It was something I definitely didn't want to rush into too quickly. It's not that easy, but you just have to start putting yourself in situations where you can meet men as friends/coworkers first, and then get to know them more from there. I have faith you can do it!!
I'm glad you got a nice haul, too! :D

When did you get married? Congrats! I too kind of favor a small-ish ceremony; the really big deal will be the Chinese banquet next year (where we rent out a restaurant for all of John's family), and I'd just as soon save money/make the ceremony a smaller, private thing.
I hope your New Year is happy as well!!
