Oh, that's wibble-worthy.

Also, did Orihime just use her powers AGAINST guy with the teardrops on his face?

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
She did: http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/341/18/

It's not that it comes as a surprise, either, given her manic obsession with Ichigo and thinking that she loves him (when they don't really know one another deep down at all, not like Ichigo/Rukia). I'm hoping though that if it comes down to a choice, she doesn't choose to save Ichigo over Ulquiorra. She's been given so much chemistry with Ulqui in the Arrancar arc of the manga that I have a really really hard time believing Kubo is just yanking our chains around with this one.

I was thinking that if Ichigo bested Ulquiorra in this fight, that she might rush to Ulqui's aid...but surprisingly Ichigo hasn't had any of his traditional (annoying) "power-ups" lately, so I'm thinking maybe he's still not a match for Ulquiorra after all. Plus I'm convinced Ulqui is a Vasto Lorde, but we haven't seen evidence of his release yet, so...yeah. Not sure what's going on with this part of the arc.

My thoughts are now that Orihime's going to get attacked by the female arrancar like she was last time, and that might disrupt the boys' fight. We'll see...

Curse these chapters take so long to come out! ;____;

Well, I approve on principle: he kidnapped her after all, I think he owes her a few smacks.

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean he owes her a few smacks, like the one she gave to him a while ago? XD

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. I believe I've seen icons of an epic bitch slap going about lj.

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
fff, I also don't think Ulquiorra's going to be able to attack Orihime...I think his feelings run far too deeply for her to do something like that. He might threaten her, but I doubt he could make good on those threats.

Well, I stopped reading Bleach about 150 chapters ago (but all occassionally come back when people go OMG!) so I'm totally not an authority, but at the very least he looks very unhappy at this turn of events.

(And I've never had a problem with my OTPs trying to kill each other.)

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, their tension is just fabulous. I adore it.

I hated Orihime in the beginning of the series. Whine whine whine, pining for Ichigo...she didn't do much more than that. But since she was lured (not even captured, he fucking lured her) to Hueco Mundo by Ulquiorra, ever since she's not only developed a backbone by standing up to him, but she's developed this strange fascination with him as much as he has with her. He's like a moth circling her brightness -- he can't seem to stop thinking about her/fretting over her for seriously more than five minutes -- and she's shining more brightly because of it.

Kind of a lame analogy, but there you have it. :D

Much more exciting lately for me than the IchiRuki connection, which Kubo has really ignored to a large extent in the last 100+ chapters or so. :/

IMO... Kubo has ignored a lot in the past 100+ chapters.

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
He has. Wayyyy too many plot threads just left open and hanging.

[identity profile] lemonyloyce.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... like i'd like to know what happened for favorite character... and if the betraying bastard felt anything when he saw her stomach pulled from her body.

I hope he starts closing some of the threads... cause it's getting to be too much drama and a bit annoying trying to follow them all.

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, crap. Gin/Ran? ;____;

*hasn't been keeping up with every character*

[identity profile] lemonyloyce.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG... did I just spoil you?!

MEEEP! I'm sorry!

I think the small plot line with Ran stars about 332... and it doesn't end well. :(

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't worry about spoil. If I was that worried about spoilers, I wouldn't have skipped ahead (like I did guiltily to find more UlquiHime interaction). ^^;

Poor Ran! ;___; How could he do that to her? I was hoping to hear that Gin had some redeeming qualities after all. You never know with these Bleach guys. .____.

You know, I actually always like Orihime. She was interesting and eccentric and had hidden depths (she wanted to be a mecha!) Plus, I loved how her boobs where lampshaded.

I always loved watching her interact with Ishida, and it sounds like she has nice chemistry with Ulquiorra, too.

[identity profile] misora.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL@wanted to be a mecha. Yes, she does have her positive attributes -- she's sweet, and kind, and gentle -- and I agree she had good interactions with Ishida in the Soul Society arc. They were very cute.

It's more her interactions with Ichigo where I dislike her -- she loses her quirkiness and quiet fortitude, and she just becomes this moping, helpless, quivering mass. I feel like Ulquiorra has helped break her out of that "I'm a nuisance to everyone" feeling and has inspired some true, raw strength that she hadn't exhibited before.

Good for Ulquiorra, then.

Wah ;_;

I knowwwww, I knowwww. It's so sad. Ichigo/Rukia used to be one of my top 3 OTPs. I still love them together (and I still rewatch the SS arc fondly on occasion), but there have been SO many other damn things going on in this manga, it's really fallen by the wayside.

Apparently there's a new Bleach movie coming out in Japan though, and Rukia features prominently? (with Ichigo, of course)
vitani: (rukia: hold it in the best you can)

[personal profile] vitani 2009-01-17 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Rukia was the reason I read Bleach, so when she stopped featuring prominently, I stopped reading. And I loved Ichigo/Rukia, and its potential. I'm sad to hear that potential hasn't been used.
