I decided that since I've spammed your LJ in the last week I should just friend you too, and stop being a tease. I'm usually really reticent (is that the word?) about friending because I hardly even read the entries from the people on my flist already, but you write sweet-ass fic (which has made me friend total strangers before) and I like talking to you about z/k.
Most of my LJ is open, and f-locked stuff tends to be only when I talk about something mildly personal, when I share media, or when I complain about fandom, which I only do about once every month or two when I read a particularly insulting fanfic or something.
Yay! I have broken through Rashaka's shell! Yessssss! XD
Yeah, unfortunately I've been ranting a bit in my FO posts. I plan to make them much happier in the future. ^^
Thanks for friending back! I will definitely get to your other posts later today. And thank you for the fic compliments! I'm craving more feedback lately (so I'd better produce!), so it's great to hear. :)
Fic is the surefire way to get me. When I first joined LJ with a mass group of Spike/Buffy Fans from the Crumbling Walls messageboard, I added the name of every Spuffy fic author that I liked, whether I knew them at the time or not. I'm weirdly greedy that way, not wanting to miss anything.
I dunno... LJ is just so big these days; I have mostly stopped adding people. There's probably only about 8 people on my flist that I met through ATLA fandom, though more that were already on it and found the show at the same time i did.
It's funny, because I was one of the first ones among my flist to start watching Avatar. I saw all of the Zutara capture fics, all of the great AUs, and thought "Wow, while this ship may or may not have a chance at being canon, this ship produces great fanart/work!" I even started writing my own fics back then (some s2-based fics), which I still plan to continue. (One was that Bluetara lemon I'd mentioned to you like two years ago. LOL!)
Then I got frustrated with the show at the end of s2--and the ship--and bowed out of it for about 6-9 months. But when I saw the beginning of season 3, I just had to jump back in. And the ship's grown, so much! It's incredible. We're in the home stretch, and despite the creator interviews and naysayers, I feel good about this. I think good things are going to happen here on out.
Okay, that was a long and rambling post about...nothing of importance. I kind of wish the WHR fandom was continuing to be this active and grow at this rate. It was fun while it lasted, but that fandom has kind of faded into obscurity. Plus, I saw it a couple of years after it'd already aired...I've never been part of a fandom waiting for the end before. It's thrilling! XD
Long story short---I definitely promise more fic soon! (Both smutfic and Lotus.)
I just discovered your Burning Time story on FFN, and it was truly amazing. Your care in crafting the storyline and maintaining accurate characterization while not letting them stagnate in established patterns is refreshing, especially when found among the puerile dross so common at FFN (I'm sorry, Amon wouldn't gush his affections to Robin at any point within the context of the show, he would not become an effusive lovestruck teenager! especially not two chapters into a story *rolls eyes*).
The extensive use of Italian and Japanese adds a feel of authenticity I very much appreciated, and your extensive research and knowledge of history and mythology added an intricacy and depth that helped it bridge the gap of being a mere extension of the story from the show to becoming a new work almost entirely- I cannot imagine their story playing out any other way.
I am now addicted to your WHR work, but can not find much outside of FFN and you have not updated the Burning Time sequel, Hieros Gamos, since last summer (please say you haven't abandoned it!). OK, now that I've gushed like a little fangirl (not cool enough to be aloof and Amon-like) I will only ask two things, may I have access to your journal and can you direct me to more WHR stories? Grazie, Alli P.S. - Please write more Hieros Gamos!
Hey. I submitted an illustration for Absolution to the Zutarotica comm and I can't see it. What am I doing wrong? ;P When I posted it, it said it was successful...
OH that means it's in the queue! Sorry, I still have the comm on moderator-approved only posts. I might do away with that now that the spoiler craziness is dying down.
I'll approve it right away! Can't wait to see what you have! XDDDD
Actually I was shipping UlquiHime a while ago (before Avatar s3, and before the really exciting Zutara happenings!). But yes, it's a great pairing...LOADS of cracktastic sexy potential. ^^ You too, eh?
I keep thinking I'm going to write UlquiHime fic one of these days, but I just haven't had the time to get around to it. One of these days...
You seem like you have good taste! ^.~ *friends you*
Yeah, I was more of a Zutara fan since the first episode haha which is so sad. And more of a grimmhime fan before Ulquihime. But then I thought of them together and it blew my mind away...
ahha
Hahaha yess even though they're crack pairingz they still got it goin'.
Yeah I always want to go and write a Zutara fic but it never happens and I end up reading others.
Greetings! I am a fellow Zutara fan, as well as someone who has been reading and adoring your Witch Hunter Robin fanfiction. Is it possible that you can friend me?
